MCC in Community

Mentor Coaching Pathway

A Spacious, Supported Pathway to Mastery

There comes a moment in a coach’s journey when growth stops being about adding more, and starts being about becoming more.

More attuned.
More trusting of the space.
More present to the coaching moment itself.

We know the MCC can feel daunting. For many, it begins as a box to tick. Full of admin, uncertainty, and a pressure to perform.

But underneath that? There’s often a quiet longing.

To rekindle your love for coaching.
To feel deeply connected to your work again.
To grow, not through pushing, but by softening into presence.

At Awaken, being an MCC is a way of life. A transformative path of vulnerability, meaningful connection, and purpose.

MCC in Community is for coaches who want more than a certificate. You're here because you're interested in becoming a masterful coach who leads with deep presence, embodies courageous heart-centered leadership, and connects to humanity at its core.

MCC in Community Kenya 2024-2

This five-month membership is designed to support you in becoming the coach you’re meant to be, cultivating the skills that define MCC-level mastery.

By this stage in your journey, you’ve spent hundreds of hours coaching, learning, and growing. What you’re seeking now isn’t more theory, it’s the space to refine your presence in session, to feel fully at ease in your mastery.

And yet, even after all that experience, creating your MCC recording can feel like a threshold moment, big, meaningful, and sometimes a little daunting. We understand. We’ve been there.

That’s why we designed MCC in Community as more than just the 10 mentor coaching hours required by the ICF. It’s a spacious, supportive pathway where you can:

  • Receive personal mentor coaching with MCC coaches who see and celebrate your unique strengths.

  • Be held in supervision, reflecting on who you are as a coach as well as how you coach.

  • Practice in observed triads, gaining gentle, insightful feedback and creating recordings in a safe, encouraging space.

Here, growth unfolds naturally. With every session, you step closer to the coach you already are at heart, confident, present, and ready to submit your recording with ease and alignment.

Wondering what it actually feels like to be part of this journey?

Rather than just tell you, we’d love for you to hear it directly from two coaches who’ve walked this path.

In this short video, they share their reflections from their own MCC in Community experiences. If you’re sensing that you’re close, but want support to truly feel it in your bones, their stories might speak to exactly where you are now.

Our next cohort gathers in deep presence in February 2026, will you join us?

I'm Christi Byerly, MCC, CEO & Founder of Awaken Coach Institute.

When I first envisioned the MCC in Community program, I wanted to create something that didn’t just meet credentialing requirements but transformed what those requirements could mean. Mastery in coaching isn’t something you achieve alone. It’s cultivated in the spaces between us, in the shared growth, vulnerability, and creativity that only community can provide.

I think of the murmuration of starlings. Millions of birds migrating together in dynamic harmony. Each bird contributes, responding to and leading others in a dance that is both individual and collective.

This is the essence of MCC in Community. As coaches, we each bring our unique gifts and experiences, but it’s the interplay, the way we learn, stretch, and inspire one another, that elevates us all to mastery.

This program is for coaches who crave depth and connection, who understand that true presence goes beyond techniques or checklists. Here, presence is fully embodied, community is brave and loving, and mastery becomes a way of life rather than a milestone.

If you’re ready to join a murmuration of masterful coaches, moving together in bold, beautiful harmony, this program is for you. Let’s create something extraordinary, together.

Matthew for MCC

I am Matthew Cintron-Quinones, MCC, mentor coach, and professional coach credentialing co-pilot for those navigating the maze of MCC preparation without losing their minds (or their humour).

My approach to mastery is simple: Fewer words, more intention. Coaching at this level is not about dazzling with technique or sounding like you swallowed a coaching textbook. It is about precision, presence, and knowing when to pause. I bring a love of data, assessment, and well-structured feedback into the mix, helping coaches see what they’re doing, not just what they think they’re doing. If it can be tracked, analysed, or turned into a nerdy spreadsheet, I am probably already doing it.

I do not promise hand-holding. I do promise partnership, direct feedback, and the occasional jab at overused coaching questions. My work is rooted in the belief that being helpful is not the same as being masterful, and I hold the bar high without pretending I invented the bar.

Having coached leaders in industries that I have no business working in, and mentor coaching all around the world, I bring a deep knowledge of ICF standards, a sharp eye for language, and the ability to translate feedback into growth (without getting lost in busywork). I am the coach that other coaches turn to when they need real talk, clear direction, and maybe a laugh in the middle of it all.

If you are craving growth without the performative nonsense, welcome. Let’s do this well—and let’s do it with a little irreverence.

Ghaya Al Barwani

I’m Ghaya Al-Barwani, MCC, ACTC, CMC, MBA (Fin), and I’m passionate about being an "Ambitions Ambassador" and a "RESULTS Whisperer."

My journey to becoming a Master Certified Coach wasn’t the typical one. With over 20 years in business development, financial planning, and people management, I bring a wealth of practical experience to my coaching. Through mental fitness and emotional culture, I help organizations, teams, and executives navigate change and turn challenges into opportunities for growth.

My superpower is in boosting revenue and performance while building systems that allow my clients to deliver with empathy, compassion, ease, and joy. Whether it’s improving the bottom line, increasing productivity, or fostering personal growth, I help leaders unlock their full potential, creating radically successful results in alignment with what matters most to them. My coaching is rooted in the belief that personal connection and compassion are key to achieving extraordinary outcomes.

Above all, I’m a mother, daughter, sister, and friend.

Our MCC in Community program is designed for those who feel called to go beyond the surface, to step outside their comfort zone, and to embrace coaching as a spiritual practice that serves both individuals and the world.

A Place to Grow Together

The journey to MCC invites us into a deeper way of being, more presence, more refinement, more trust in what we already know. And while it’s a powerful path, it can sometimes feel like you’re walking it alone.

That’s why the heart of this program is community.
A place to be met, supported, and encouraged by experienced coaches who are walking alongside you, committed not just to their own growth, but to yours, too.

Each month, you’ll engage in observed coaching, mentor sessions, and supervision within a supportive circle of peers. You’ll receive honest, loving feedback, and gain the clarity and confidence needed to shape and submit your MCC recordings with integrity and care.

Whether you're unlearning habits that no longer serve or discovering the simplicity at the heart of masterful coaching, you won't be doing it in isolation. You'll be part of a compassionate container designed to help you show up fully, refine your craft, and take that next courageous step, together.

This isn’t just preparation. It’s companionship on the path to mastery.

MCC in Community Kenya 2024-6

Why Choose Awaken?

Coaching mastery isn’t a destination; it’s a way of being.

Of more than 60,000 ICF credentialed coaches worldwide, only about 4% are MCCs. Of  the small number of Level 3 programs accredited in English, many focus on fast-tracking and individual achievement.

Awaken honors a different path: one of deep relationships, systemic change, and soulful growth.

Our highest hope is that you'll love yourself better, experience one of the kindest communities on earth, and bring that much more goodness to your clients.

Our MCC in Community program is an ICF-accredited Level 3 program, building on the same rigorous standards as our Level 1 and Level 2 accredited programs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this course accredited for my MCC?

Yes! This course is an ICF-accredited Level 3 program. If you're a PCC coach, this course will count toward your MCC credential.

I have only coached for 501 hours. Can I still use this course?

Absolutely! This course is for PCC coaches who are ready to deepen their practice. The Awaken Certificate is yours to keep and can be applied toward your MCC when you're ready. We recommend coaching simply and beautifully at the MCC level as early in your journey as possible.

Will I be guaranteed to get my MCC after this course?

After completing your deeply enriching community conversations, you’ll receive a certificate of completion, which you can use to apply for your MCC.

When you apply for your MCC, you’ll need to:

  • Submit 2 MCC-level recordings
  • Pass the ICF credentialing exam, which is currently the same exam for PCC and MCC applications.

While no Level 3 program can guarantee first-time success, our success-rate is high. We’ll guide you through the process and offer you clear feedback on the MCC minimum requirements on the recordings you bring to your Awaken MCC mentor coaches.

We’ll be with you every step of the way!

I’m nervous about performing well with MCC and PCC coaches. Should I be?

It’s completely normal to feel a little nervous! We've all been there - your MCC faculty members included. You’ll be supported by experienced coaches and a strong community. Together, we’ll create a safe space for growth and mastery. Our faculty are trained to be attuned to a variety of learning styles and neurotypes, and we'll offer you individual attention and safety.

What makes this course different from other MCC programs?

This course is not just about ticking boxes for your MCC, it’s about deepening your coaching practice through a spiritual, loving, and courageous approach.

With Awaken, you’ll not only earn your credentials but also experience transformation, connection, and alignment that goes beyond traditional training.

We believe that true coaching mastery comes from a deep connection to self and others. The course integrates personal transformation and spiritual alignment, helping you unlock the depth of your own potential so that you can show up fully for your clients.

Will I get ongoing support after completing the course?

Yes! Awaken’s community doesn’t stop at course completion. You’ll become part of a vibrant, ongoing network of coaches who support each other through challenges, breakthroughs, and celebrations. This is more than a course; it's the beginning of a long-lasting, deeply connected coaching journey.

Why is the Awaken community such a key part of this course?

At the heart of the Awaken community is diversity—bringing together coaches from across the globe with unique backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. This rich mix of voices creates a dynamic, inclusive space for learning, growth, and support. Whether you’re connecting with peers across continents or engaging in meaningful discussions with coaches from different walks of life, the international collaboration will deepen your practice and broaden your worldview. The diversity within our community fosters personal and professional growth, accountability, and a strong sense of connection—empowering you beyond the course.
